Yum yum!
Shortly before Christmas Caroline had her first go with Solid foods. So far she has enjoyed rice, oatmeal, squash, prunes, peas, and pears. (and a little taste of ice cream :)
Caroline in South Carolina
I wish Jared and I were better about taking pictures, but we're not. So here are a few of the pictures we have to document our trip:
On the plane.
At the skating rink. Yay for black lights.
Helping aunt Geri with her ipad.
Caroline also gave us her first shoulder shaking laugh. We only caught a little of it at the end of this video, but it sure was cute!
The ones that didn't make it on the Christmas card
Temple Square
Note to self: don't go to see the lights on a night when MoTab is doing their Christmas concert. Traffic was CRAZY! We spent 2 hours driving to Salt Lake so we could spend 30 minutes walking around and 15 minutes in one of the visitors centers feeding Caroline.
But is was lovely and now we know when NOT to go. :)

Blowing insulation
I know I need to post pictures of the house and the progress we've made, but I have to take them. So for now all I can offer are these winners. We rented an insulation blower from Home Depot and filled in one wing of the house that was sadly lacking adequate insulation. We did it right before a pretty serious cold snap, but I'm pretty sure it helped.
Merry Christmas
We enjoyed Christmas Eve with Jared's family here in Springville. Christmas Day we opened presents at our house and then spent most of the day at Jared's parents' so Jared could tile their hearth for their Christmas present. We then packed up and went to bed early for our flight to South Carolina.

Caroline's 6 month stats
We had Caroline's 6 month well check a little early since 6 months actually fell on Christmas day. So- on Dec 19th 2013 these were her stats:
Height: 24 in (2%)
Weight: 11 lb 12 oz (0%)
Head: 43 cm (75%)
This was from earlier in the month, but I didn't get a picture of her on her little blanket.
-After Christmas we had to go back and get her shots and I asked them to throw her on the scale again and she was 12 lb 10 oz. She gained a whole pound over the holidays. I wish I could say I only gained one pound :)
-She has also started eating solid food. If you can call baby food solid. She's done really well and I think that is a contributing factor to her weight gain.
-While we were in South Carolina for the holidays she also rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time. Very exciting!
-She loves standing. She doesn't bounce or anything, but she really likes to be vertical. My siblings called it vertical planking because she would just be super stiff and not want to bend.
-She is a mover. She isn't a big fan of being in the same place for very long. She likes to be walking around.
-She's a great singer and very communicative. On a little development survey we filled out at the doctors office she scored really high on the communication section. We'll not talk about the gross motor or fine motor sections.
- She likes to study things. She'll be super smiley and happy and then we pull out the camera to get a picture and she gets very serious and curious about what that black thing is.
- Lately she's been waking up once at night- but she's also been going to bed much earlier, so I guess it all evens out.
- She was starting to get a little stranger awareness, but after the holidays with 30+ people running around the same house, she has gotten over that for the time being.
