We tried out a new spot for us at Diamond Fork campground. A few friends came up Friday evening and we hiked around a little bit and roasted marshmallows. We stuck around and camped and it was such a beautiful spot! I felt like the colors were so vibrant. Pretty clear blue sky. White snow topped mountains. Spring green grass. It was lovely!

April
4.1.18 Happy Easter!! The kids were pretty excited about their Easter baskets. All the candy had a pretty short life expectancy.
Matthew thoroughly enjoyed his Conference crepes. |
Helping me pick off cilantro leaves... and eating the stalks. |
Easter egg hunt with cousins. |
Caroline drew this heart and wrote mommy all by herself. Pretty sweet.
4.2.18 We were given a puppet stage and these guys had a fun time with it. I took some really cute videos of their "plays".
4.2.18 He saw the older guys in time out and must have decided it looked fun. He put himself here.
4.4.18 A blissful moment of them playing peacefully together. I live for these moments!
4.5.18 The weather was nice enough for a hike so we convinced Haley to hike up the horse trail to Whiting campground. I'm sure we didn't go quite the speed she would have liked, but we made it all the way there and back and I mostly only carried Matthew.
4.7.18 Cute kids playing on the arcade games at the mall. Without quarters or tokens, of course. Who needs those?
4.11.18 Little Sahara. We went with Jamie and her two little ones and had a blast playing in the sand. It was such a nice day until the wind started blowing sand in faces, but by then they were about all played out anyway.
4.13.18 Start em' young! Helping daddy do a little bit of tile work.
4.14.18 One of the joys of spring... Mud puddles! Ben and Wyatt were filthy and oh so happy.
4.21.18 Visiting friends who had baby bunnies. The kids thought they were cute and would hold them until they wiggled- at which point they would drop them on the ground- much to my dismay.
4.22.18 Good looking crew heading into church on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
4.24.18 Why buy real toys?
4.27.18 Bring on the warmer weather!

Sister's Trip to Galveston
It was a miracle. The four gals were able to make it to Houston flying standby on the same day. Not completely without mishap (sorry, Em)- but we all made it!
The first evening was full of tears brought by laughter and sleep deprivation. Adam fed us a nice dinner, gave us a tour of his house and then we were off to Galveston- hoping to hit a break in the terrible weather. We even had a nice tornado warning go off around 3 am.
We made it to the hotel- victory high fives! Did I mention we were all really sleepy? |
We had one glorious day of lazily wandering and exploring as much or as little as we wanted. It was nice to be with my sisters who are all as budget conscious as I am... read: cheap. We ate ice cream on the gulf, went on a dolphin sighting boat ride, played a few games, stopped in a few tourist trap stores, and tried not to worry about what was going on at home.
We'd planned for a nice leisurely morning at the hotel- alas, standby flights didn't cooperate and we headed out for the airport at the crack of dawn and were all on our way to our respective homes by about 10:00 am.
It was a blast. I'm so glad we were able to do it. Glad my sisters wanted to do it. Glad Adam was willing to get us there. Glad it was a memorable experience. I hope it's not too long before we can make it happen again!
