Trip to South Carolina

We had a great trip to SC.
Lots of good time with cousins at the beach and good times playing with cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Leckie's house.

Matthew at 18 months

This is one determined little boy!
He loves keeping up with Ben and Caroline.
Drives cars around with Ben all the time.
Is a little bit of a mischief maker and has a cute little grin when he knows he's caught.
Is starting to say a few distinguishable words: shoes, bubbles, mama, want some, crackers, amen, dada, papa, and makes a few animal sounds.
He has been pretty good about going to nursery.
Usually takes just one nap after lunch or a longer nap in the morning and short one in the afternoon.
Is in a toddler bed and seems to be doing great.  Every once in a while I find him asleep on the floor but most of the time he stays in his bed really well.
Still wakes up at night.  He goes to sleep really easily in his bed but if we're out and about he fights it hard!
Loves his sister.

Caroline is 5!

Caroline got two birthday parties this year- one in South Carolina on the 24th and one in Utah on the 25th.
Caroline loves painting, coloring, and drawing.
She likes to help... until she is asked to do something she doesn't want to do.
She likes to "learn" money by doing little jobs around the house.
She is a sugar and candy pro.  She keeps track of who and where to get candy.
She is so good with directions and locations.  She has a great memory!
She is learning to read and knows quite a few sight words.
She is a great little bike rider and is good at pumping.
Caroline can be a little shy at times but loves being with friends.
This gal loves loves loves Minnie Mouse and was pretty proud of herself when she purchased about 8 or so episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on cable.  Needless to say we put in a password pretty quick after that.
Caroline would watch TV all day if i'd let her.
Always wants to know where we're going.
Often has "just one question" where she will proceed to tell you something that was definitely not a question.
Is beyond excited to go to kindergarten this fall.

May

5.5.18  Cousin Katie is such a great babysitter!  She shared these pictures with me of the fun they had while Jared and I were out. (You can almost tell in this picture that Caroline has very very short bangs. Apparently they were getting in her eyes so she cut them off.  *sigh*

5.3.18 He has the right idea, but the execution needs a little work.

5.5.18 We were invited to a cinco de mayo party.  Good food, good folks, good times.

5.13.18  Happy Mother's day to me!

5.16.18  Happy birthday to me! I got to give Grandma and Grandpa their Mother's day/Dad's birthday gift... and eat my cake, too.

5.17.18  We had a very successful preschool co-op this year.  Caroline loved it and we had some great ladies and children who participated.  This was at our little "graduation" party.

Hike to Diamond Fork hot springs

My brother, Adam, and my parents happened to have overlapping visits.  Adam wanted to go for a little hike so we took off for Diamond Fork.  It was a great hike and it was great to have enough adults to carry all the kids. They certainly wouldn't have made it all 6 miles!

They loved the hot springs! There were lots of little bugs flying around, but otherwise it was perfect!

Camping at Diamond Fork

We tried out a new spot for us at Diamond Fork campground.  A few friends came up Friday evening and we hiked around a little bit and roasted marshmallows.  We stuck around and camped and it was such a beautiful spot! I felt like the colors were so vibrant.  Pretty clear blue sky. White snow topped mountains. Spring green grass.  It was lovely!
