Creative lunches

In an effort to encourage 3 year olds to eat their food we've taken to occasionally having creative lunches.  These were our "tuna fish sandwiches"  It's amazing how much more willingly they will consume this over a regular square sandwich.  (no, I didn't make this up myself, it was from a magazine)

New Hampshire II

I had an absolutely wonderful weekend in New Hampshire with some fabulous folks.  I definitely didn't catch up on my sleep!  Here are some of my favorite fantastic shots.

These are from our hike/snowshoeing expedition up Belknap Mountain. It was beautiful, but the wind made it absolutely frigid and painfully cold.  When we got to the top it was almost unbearable.

"Bonfire" on the lake.  Lake Winnipesaukee was across the street from the place we were staying and we decided it would be cool and random to roast marshmallows on the lake.  It was a little unnerving to be lighting a fire on ice knowing that there was a very small possibility of falling through :) We had seen people snowmobiling on the lake and had gone to another lake earlier and talked to some ice fishers who said the ice was between 8-10 inches thick- so we really weren't THAT worried.  

Looking towards shore- it wasn't frozen underneath the docks- it made me a little nervous.

New York Times

The other day we went to the Museum of Science here in Boston.  While we were looking at an exhibit this lady asked if she could get some pictures of the girls while they were looking at the exhibit- which incidentally is part of the opening of the new planetarium- for the New York Times.  Knowing that it would be okay with Jennie and Mike I said, sure!  She followed us around for a little bit and Cate made it into the news.

happy valentine's day

Valentines day really hasn't been so bad this year... I got lots of fun valentines from friends and kids and Carter even got me a beautiful rose.  To make it even better it was above 50 degrees and mostly sunny so we spent a little time outside.  And the day's not even over yet!

This is what was left of the igloo that we made at my ward activity a few weeks ago... it's absolutely demolished now :)

I don't like being sick.  I was pretty sure before, but now I'm absolutely certain that it's just not for me.  So after sleeping for about 45 hours (a very random guess) in three days I'm back to the grindstone and plugging along.  It's sad how long it takes to really get over a dumb little bug.  Oh well... life goes on....  

Snow sculpting

For a ward activity today we had snow sculpting.  My group made an igloo, another made a polar bear, and another made a sea turtle.  It was so much fun and SO much snow!  It was crazy- I don't think we ever saw the ground underneath despite lots of digging. (sorry, my camera lens was a little foggy)

Snow day 2

After the snow stopped at around 8:00am it turned into an absolutely beautiful day!  It was a balmy 35 degrees and the sun actually made an appearance.  Happy day!  The kids and I had a good time playing in the 2+ feet of snow that are still on the ground.
